​about Denise Hertz and family:

Denise recently discovered that she had a large acoustic neuroma near her brain stem. She will have surgery in July at St. Luke's in Kansas City and will be in the hospital at least a week.  She will not be able to do her job as a traveling nurse for quite a few weeks after surgery. Denise has opted for the trans-lab approach which will mean she will lose 100% of her hearing in her right ear.  Denise is married to Deist and she and her husband have three children.  They are members of Crossroads Community Church.   All funds from the ice cream social will go to Denise and her family.
