Preparing for Worship
February 2, 2025 www.crossroadswsks.com WHAT TO PRAY THIS WEEK Speaker: Patrick Belshe Pray for those who will lead in worship: Garold Syring-the Worship Ministry team Patrick Belshe Erin Toole Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in our corporate gatherings, leading us to exalt Jesus Christ. Pray that CCC will grow in Christ-exalting, Kingdom advancing ministry in 2025. Pray that God will move on us to be more evangelistic and, through our obedience in sharing the Gospel, will save many. Pray that we will become a house of prayer. This Sunday Patrick will be using 1 Timothy 6:1-6 as his text for his sermon entitled “Managing the Operation”. 6 Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. 2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things. 3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain, VENITE-WE COME IN FAITH Now we come to the third movement of Psalm 95. This begins, strangely enough, with the last words of verse 7: Today, if you will obey His voice … The words of the last line of verse 7 speak of obeying the voice of God. And they are followed by words of condemnation and exhortation. Is not this suggestive of a sermon that compels the feeling that God is speaking and that God is to be obeyed? The third part of our Psalm seems to relate to the preaching that we ought to be doing, and it relates to the preached word that we ought to be obeying. For today we have an opportunity to obey His voice. SONGS OF WORSHIP This Sunday's Music As we prepare for corporate worship, meditate on the lyrics from some of our songs of worship. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. The more that I love Him, more love He bestows. Each day is like heaven, my hear overflows. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. Every need He is supplying; Plenteous grace He bestows. Every day my way gets brighter; The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. The more that I love Him, more love He bestows. Each day is like heaven, my hear overflows. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. Since I stared for the Kingdom, Since my life He controls, Since I gave my heart to Jesus, The longer I serve Him, The sweeter He grows. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows. That our souls to Him belong. Who holds our days within His hand? What comes apart from His command? And what will keep us to the end? The love of Christ, in which we stand. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Our hope springs eternal. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Now and ever we confess: Christ our hope in life and death. What truth can calm the troubled soul? God is good, God is good. Where is the grace and goodness known? In our great Redeemer’s blood. Who holds our faith when fears arise? Who stands above the stormy trial? Who sends the waves that bring us nigh unto the shore, the rock of Christ? O sing, “Hallelujah!” Our hope springs eternal. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Now and ever we confess: Christ our hope in life and death. Unto the grave, what will we sing? “Christ, He lives! Christ, He lives!” And what reward will heaven bring? Everlasting life with Him. There we will rise to meet the Lord, then sin and death will be destroyed, And we will feast in endless joy, when Christ is ours forevermore. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Our hope springs eternal. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Now and ever we confess: Christ our hope in life and death. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Our hope springs eternal. O sing, “Hallelujah!” Now and ever we confess: Christ our hope in life and death. “Christ Our Hope in iIfe and Death” Words and music by KEITH GETY, MATT BOSWELL, JORDAN KAUFLIN, MATTHEW MERKER and MATT PAPT © 2020 Getty Music Hymns and Songs (ASCAP0 Getty Music Publishing (BMI) Jordan Kauflin Music (BMI) Love Your Enemies Publishing (ASCAP) Matthew Merker music (BMI) Messenger Hymns (BMI) (admin at musicservices.org).
